Welcome "BER" months, Welcome Christmas!

Posted by germz at 7:14 PM 0 comments

This is one of the things a proud Pinoy would say when the "ber" months start, Merry Christmas. Once it's "ber" months, it's time to count the days before Christmas.

Indeed, the Philippines is the world's renowned to have the longest running Christmas celebration ever. And as early as today, September 1, Filipinos are starting to greet everyone a Merry Christmas, or post anything about it. Just take a look at this.

germzofgenerality.blogspot.com

There are so much things to look forward to this coming Christmas. But the most important thing here is that we are able to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and not just about giving gifts and attending parties. Let's take the coming days an opportunity to pause for a while and pray for all the victims of calamities. Because aside from Christmas, rainy days comes along with the "ber" months. And even before it, calamities have already occurred.

So, Merry Christmas everyone.

Big Toys for Girls

Posted by germz at 11:18 AM 0 comments

You do wanna play some of the boys' big toys, right? Can you name some?

Yes the gadgets... cars... iPad... high-tech stuffs and so on. These indeed are just some of their famous toys. That's why they are very known as "playboys". (playboy - in the Philippines, it's particular to those who are chick magnet. boys who love playing girls = playboy. but this time i'll define it literally for temporary reasons. as in, playboy = boys who play toys.)

How about us, girls? What do you think are we famous of? Ken? Barbie Girl? Sounds fantastic? (now this sounds like a lyrics already. but indeed life is plastic.)

Then, who says we cannot have the same toys as they have? Just look at these super duper lovely thang.
I so wanna have this kind of bike. The vintage look. I can imagine myself wearing a vintage dress while driving this one. All eyes would surely be on me. However, I think I am not fit enough to ride it. I am just too paper thin for this kind of bike. It weighs bigger than me. Plus, I do not know how to drive.=)

How about this?

Sweet! Now, this is the essence of saving. I wouldn't care not eat at all so my money goes for this. (nah, just exaggerating) I still do not know how to drive but I kinda want to enroll myself in a driving school "insigida" by just seeing the picture. This too has a vintage touch with a modern twist. Anyway, this kind of car is a bit affordable than real vintage cars.

making a gif

Now, that is different. It is a pic of me, myself riding on a motorbike with a two tone body color. Where else could you find that? This is actually my boyfriend's. It is a blue and white colored susuki raider model. I just change the body color for a girly touch. I did not imagine for a nice result like that.

Till next time girls... Have Fun and be beautiful always!

Facebook: The Sims Social Cheat Tips

Posted by germz at 8:43 AM 0 comments
I am not pretty sure if the title is correct because I will not be talking about cheats here but instead more of the tips.

I admit that a while ago or since yesterday, I have been looking for cheats of getting more energy and simoleons. However, I am stuck in website surveys. You need to finish it first before you can get the download link. Then, I came across with comments and reviews that the link is even fake. On the other hand, I did download the cheat engine and turned out useless because I do not know how it works. Even if there are available instructions, I am still having a hard time figuring out how.

Then, lately while I was currently playing the sims social, I had at some point discover something of how to actually save my energy. You just need the stuffs below for a successful the sims social game experience.

1. Add lots of neighbors - The key in the game is to have lots of neighbors. Why? It is because you can actually save your energy through visiting their houses. Every time you pay a visit, you get i think at most 5 free energy. Plus, after you have used up all free energy, 1 energy will then be added.

2. Visit your neighbors less - I do not really recommend to visit your neighbors more often if (a big if here) you don't have a purpose. The purpose I am talking about here is when you are accomplishing a goal. I'll give some examples.
  • Tinker - When you do the "tinker" (clicking a chair and then do the "tinker"), it uses up your energy. But if you do it in your neighbor's house, it uses up your free energy.
This is just simple. Every act or goal that uses up energy do it in your neighbor's house.

3. Befriend your neighbors - As much as possible, befriend your neighbors so that you can do more stuffs in their house. For the first few visits of your new neighbors, use all free energy with the chatting until you are more than an acquaintance. Anyway, it is more rewarding in the end.

I am still at a point of discovering the sims social app in facebook. But every now and then, I update you with some of my discoveries. If you can notice with this picture below,
I am still considered as a newbie. But I am glad I can help, hopefully. Just keep posted.

Wrap your legs with these Bandage Skirts for sale!

Posted by germz at 9:58 AM 2 comments
Who says only the wounded ones are able to wrap themselves with bandage? You are thinking twice to wear it, but I know there is a tiny voice within you wanting to wear it too.

These bandage skirts are now back in town ready to victimize a lot of fashionistas. The good thing here is no matter how many victims there will be, I am pretty sure there are enough bandage skirts for everyone.

In case you are not aware but I live in the Philippines. The fashion stuff here is a bit a year or more behind from your country because just a while ago while I was surfing for photos of bandage skirts, I noticed that the photos or articles were are way back from year 2007. Then, what year is it now, 2011, so it means it's a total of 3 years behind.

It is named as a "bandage skirt" because it actually looks like one. It does look like a bandage when wrapped over your legs but just stitched together, obviously. In case you'll ask, it was the French King of Cling, Hervé Léger, who invented it in 1989 (particularly the bandage dress). I guess the bandage skirt was years later invented after bandage dress.

So, I figure out selling some pieces in my online store. And believe it or not, the stocks I have are almost out of stock. Plus, aside from retail, I also have wholesale orders. Right now from the 6 pieces stock I have, there are only 3 remaining left. Then, I have incoming 2pcs of wholesale orders. I am very thankful with such good vibes. Below is a picture of me trying to model my items so to see or picture it out when worn.

There are still other pics actually paired with the rest of my for sale tops too. However, I got lazy to edit the pics and change the background. As you can notice, the edges of me are not that fine. They are not carefully edited. Anyway, if I have my energy again, I will add the rest of the photos.

The price of each bandage skirt is 250php. Visit my online store by the way.

Followers: I will follow you!

Posted by germz at 4:42 PM 0 comments
This is for all my followers, a million thanks to you! I am still starting so I am not expecting a bunch of followers instantly but hey, thank you so much. Anyway, I would love following you too but the problem is I do not know how.

I was trying to click each of my members to follow but I am directed to a google friend connect site. I was expecting to see each of your blog so, I will just going to click the follow button. However, it turned out not the way I expected.

For a little favor then, how about putting a comment of your blogger site right after this blog. I will just then click or open each and then follow. I would love reading your blogs too. This is a two way learning right--learning from each other.

Moreover, I think my site is okay now. My menu bar has its correct submenu already. Plus, I have a list of blogs under a specific category so don't even mind clicking it.

Thank you again!

A Whole Nurse World!

Posted by germz at 5:03 AM 0 comments
A new world was shown yesterday, as the newly RNs went searching their names the time the July 2011 NLE result was released. It was announced that only 37,513 passed out of the 78,135 who took it coming from the different cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, La Union, Legazpi, Lucena, Nueva Ecija, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last July 2011. This is a proof that fewer nurses took this time compared from the December takers. A not quite shining, shimmering and splendid world huh. Now tell me, how do you feel? Plus more....

6 examinees are still pending waiting for final determination ... I will not put a period here since it's still pending. Let's hope for the best.

This is a whole new world for you nurses. A dazzling (i hope) place you never knew. Now that you are in a world with us, make the right decision because no one will tell you no or where to go.

...By the way, it's just the same old world what you've thought is a whole new world.

Hitting 2 birds with one stone!

"I off myself" (an expression meaning going off duty even if your not) for just one day but when I came back for duty already just a while ago, I was shocked by the sudden changes. First, the ER department was transferred to the bigger room. My co-volunteers jokingly asked if I knew about the transferring of stuffs since it was on the same day of my absence. It was as if I knew the agenda and might be the reason as to why I opted to go off duty to avoid the cleaning tasks. Anyway, at least the room now is bigger however, too spacious that we will be having a hard time checking all the patients every now and then especially in emergency cases.

Then, I knew about the selling of items outside the hospital building. I almost cried to tears (really? just overacting) for not informing me, it would be my moment and chance for my items to be displayed already. At least I have something to spend for this coming hospital anniversary as well as the city fiesta. Well, problem solved because I was given the permission to go home for a while and get my items (whew! big relief.) Then, the funny thing here is when the display has started already. Almost everyone went out to see and check the items. And when I was about to go home, there was an emergency case and I was asked to call the NODs. I really don't know why I was laughing that time while calling the NODs (I think it's because of the excitement.). I was as if the girl who cried wolf because I was laughing when I call them so they thought that I was joking.

So back to my "tindahan" or store, I was able to get back within 45min. Fortunately, I got a very good place with a table and even first among the display, quite an advantage.
Furthermore, there were sponsors giving free drinks and food (a very good timing because I was super thirsty and hungry). After arranging my items then, I went back to duty. My co-volunteer brought a camera with him so we really had the indulgence.

Other than that, there were games, videoke, free lunch. Only a few were there to join and witness the first day of the hospital celebration. But still everyone enjoyed especially the food. Happy 1st day anniversary ya'll.

Standing at a fork in the road

Posted by germz at 7:52 PM 0 comments
Right now, I am faced with so many works and tasks and still can't decide on what or where to start. So I figure out why not express myself through blog. Anyway, this is how my past time is all about.

For now, I still have my remaining 5 articles to make that is due yesterday and until now, I am still not starting. Then, new stocks for my online store just arrived which means I need to update my online store already. What's more is that "I off myself"-an expression my co-nurse volunteers and I use when deciding to be on off-duty even if not. But hey, I am a bit sick, got colds and a headache so I still have a good excuse.

But at least I can still manage to smile because along with my new stocks is my dress that I will be wearing on my birthday. In fact, I was so busy fitting it with all the matching accessories that I lost track of time again.

For the meantime, I include some of my happenings yesterday in case you'll ask. Honestly, I was broke after I returned home. I bought some materials for duty, for my nursing cap and other necessary stuffs. I also bought
a book that might help me in my article stuffs. I am desperate to learn more about writing because it's one my weaknesses.=) And I almost forgot, I bought curlers for my new hairstyle too. This assymetrica style is so hard to maintain especially when my hair is not rebonded or is wavy.

So I am gonna spill the beans here with my new arrival of stocks. I only have new 3 items. I am gonna start with the vintage madonna tie-up blue crop top.
This fits medium to large and to the small frames, you can just tie it up giving you a loose crop top look.

Next, is the cardigan-like crop top. I love the cloth, it kinda has a knitted texture and very cool to wear. It is best worn with a dress, I think. But not the formal dress of course. I mean the simple plain spaghetti dress for a sporty look.

The last one is a heart design crop top. It is dirty white and is stretchy thus, fits medium to large only. It has bigger size really.=)

Feel free to visit my online store and browse the available items...

For the benefit of my blog, it is currently under construction. The number one proof is my menu bar. If you can notice the subcategories are all messed up. But don't worry, the menu bar is still working. Anyway, even if you try to click the subcategories, there be no change since there is still no link. In time, it will then, be replaced with the right ones.

Thanks for your consideration!

3 simple steps in giving your photo a Vintage look

Posted by germz at 5:02 AM 0 comments
Your friend uploaded another photo again at tumblr and surely you're all green with envy. Are you wondering as to why them but not you. Why they have these fab vintage looking photos except yours and how they actually do that? Well, you have just come to the right place. You don't need a Photoshop knowledge here (except that you are going to use it while doing this whole process). You don't need a particular application. What you only need is that you stay where you are and just follow these 3 simple steps. Take note only 3 steps. So, let's start counting and follow these simple instructions.

Below are two photos of a before and after scenario. The left side is the original photo while the right side is the vintage look result.

Now let us see how we can come up with that.

STEP 1: Add a Layer

Open your chosen picture to be edited in your Photoshop, it's type does not really matter whether it's CS5 or whatever. Then, add a layer above your the background picture. Take a look below.

STEP 2: Fill Color

After adding a layer, you fill it with a background color. As you can see with the pics, there is a box at the lower right corner. Double click it and then change the color into any shade of orange, yellow or brown. A darker shade is more recommended.

STEP 3: Change the blending mode and opacity

From the first photo, change the layer blending into soft light. If the color you chose in filling the layer is a dark orange, you can observe that it dominates the picture. That is why, in the second picture, you will try to lessen the opacity until it suits what you want.

Not that hard right? I apologize for the pictures resolution. You can check out my tumbler instead for a clearer view.

Till nextime guys!

At The Drop of a Hat!

Posted by germz at 3:06 AM 0 comments

Question: Are you willing to leave nursing for a while?

Answer: At the drop of a hat.

I am currently a volunteer nurse. I work in a hospital for free so if ever there is an opportunity out there, a job outside the nursing field, I would surely accept it at a drop of a hat. It's just for a while anyway. Now that I have gained a little experience in a hospital setting, I think I am doing a rightful step. At least I did my part and loosing this opportunity might be a great loss for me. So, here's really the exact story.

It was yesterday night while I was sleeping and my phone suddenly rang. Actually, I came from a graveyard duty 11pm-7am. So, I badly needed at least an 8-hour-sleep to regain back my energy because since then, I was having a problem in my sleep pattern. Back to my phone, it rang as I have said. But since I was in the middle of my sleep although in the midst of waking up already, I was too lazy to pick it up. I also thought that it was my bf so perhaps he could understand. However, it rang three times, a sign to pick it up stat. Then, I was just shocked because it was from a voice of a girl in a serious and formal tone and so I remembered my application the time she mentioned the company.

Shocked, speechless... What else would you expect from a sleepy head? Everything seemed to be loading. Until the voice commanded me to note something and eventually the information sank in. On the contrary, everything then seemed to be so fast right after it. Like thinking of my volunteer work and how I will manage my time if ever. Then, I said to myself that I am way too fast and a bit of assuming. It is just an interview and I am already thinking that way. I might just be expecting too high.

Anyway, this might be an opportunity that God wants me to grab. It may be outside my field but it is giving me more benefits than my current volunteer work. I know right?

When exactly is Breast Cancer Month?

Posted by germz at 10:07 AM 1 comments

Few minutes ago, Facebook welcomed me with a confusing message from a friend. Confusing because the message is quite long and I am not sure if it is really for me but it's something serious. I guess! Then, after reading, it's just another viral message trying to control people for the purpose of breast cancer awareness (the aim of the message as they say). It's another man's show using the social network, Facebook as a medium. I mean what is exactly the connection of a shoe size with the word "inches" beside it to breast cancer? Is it really for the awareness of the people? Or for their curiousness as to what it means? It would be acceptable if it's something pink, with a ribbon as long as any female thing is involved. Plus, are they even sure if August is really the Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Because as I was trying to search for it, Breast Awareness Month will still be this October. I read it from the 2011 National Health Information Center.

Okay then, back to the message. I am not really against it. Indeed, I can say that it's a sign of unity we should be happy about. That even in social networks, people are still doing stuffs to put them together. I still want to be one of them. I just find it hilarious about the shoe size thing because if I am going to follow the steps and type in my shoe size, "9 inches" would be my status. What exactly would other people think about that. I have already in mind, what about yours? Well, it's for you to decide. Let us just see how far this message can go. If it can reach the media just like last year, it was about the bra stuff. So Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

GOOGLE : BLOGger = GOOGLE BLOG

Posted by germz at 1:24 PM 0 comments

Have you read the news regarding the intention of Google to change Blogger into Google Blogs? Well, I have and this is just one of the their many plans of re-branding or retiring all non-Google brand. So, let us expect that not only Blogger will be changed as well as others including Picasa. But is this really true? Only a few articles are searchable with the same topics and I still have not located the main URL yet for Google Blogs, so I think these are just speculations. I think so. Accordingly, let us find time tracing back the alteration or emergence of Google brand names.

  • Let us start with the word, Google itself how it really emerged and where it came from. Actually, the search engine is initially named as Backrub in 1996. That's when in year 1997 the well-known Google was named and finalized. It was taken from the mathematical term "googol" which is represented by a number followed by a hundred of zeroes. Thus, reflects its current reputation of providing the web infinite amount of information
  • The month of february, year 2003 was the aquisition of great Pyra Labs, the creator of the Blogger
  • Then the following are the names that are changed into Google brand:
    • Froogle to Google Product Search
    • Google Print to Google Book Search
    • Keyhole to Google Earth
    • Personalized Homepage to iGoogle
    • Urchin to Google Analytics
    • JotSpot to Google Sites
  • Then, the Celebration of Blogger held on the month of September that is of nearly the same age with Google. It is just a month from now and another year is about to add for celebration.

So many Google words googling around and to its timeless popularity the term has been most likely used as a daily word for search or look (e.g. "Try Google it in the net."). But for the Blogger, I can't imagine reading Google beside it. What would happen to the blogger users and the changes it could give to everyone. Keep blogging Bloggers!
